I’m so very late this time, but thanks again to Lisa Ricard Claro of writinginthebuff.net for this opportunity to stretch my brain muscle with yet another imaginary book cover, this time a photo by Kathy Matthews.
SNOW ANGELS
It was still dark when Andy got dressed to shovel yet another load of winter white, so he didn’t see the unusual hump in the snow where the sidewalk normally was. And, it was unusual since their yard was the flattest parcel of land on their cul-de-sac. They had no children, so toys and sleds weren’t likely. It wasn’t until Andy reached that portion of the sidewalk (working in the reflected light of a winter’s night) that he realized something was amiss. Pulling his cell phone out, he shined its screen light over the hump and slowly began to realize that it was no ordinary snow drift. No, this definitely was not a snow drift. Facing a sickening reality, Andy turned his phone around and called 911.

Perfect blurb. You've given me enough information to pique my interest, but haven't quite told me the whole story. (That's one of my blurb faults...I blab too much!) You've hinted at a dead body, but it could really be any number of things. My interest is up! All I need now is a cozy chair and a hot cup of tea to accompany your book.
No Andy ... don't uncover the lump!! It can only be bad!!
Thank you very much! I felt pretty good with this one.
Way to go, Wendy, this has us all guessing.

This is definitely a teaser. I was drawn in quickly and felt as if I were there with Andy as he discovers the bump.
You little tease, you! Great stuff.
